The most important banks were selected considering their turnover volume. In this study, we have not taken into account the profiles that use Twitter only for customer care purposes. The analysed banks have been: Banco BMG, Banco Do Brazil, Banrisul, Bradesco, Caixa, Citibank, HSBC, Sicredi, Santander, Banco Do Nordeste and Itaú.

We have found out that Facebook is the most important social network for Conventional Banking marketers in Brazil. The reason is simple, there are more than 18 million of unique users on this network for this industry.

Itaú stands out as the leading bank in terms of audience and engagement on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. This bank triumphs on social media due to its content strategy. They get success and engagement publishing for example personal testimonies from their platform ‘Medium‘.

Youtube is the social network that generates the best engagement result among all the others. It becomes the online TV for these companies in Brazil.
