Europe is the world area with the highest social networking penetration, according to a recent ComScore’s report. The “Europe Digital Year in Review” shows data like that social networking monthly penetration in Europe reached 84.4 percent of all European internet users.

EU’s report outlines that Europe is losing all leadership in social networking

Social network Wamba moves to the platform… aka Facebook
Wamba used to be the second social network in Spain, to the point that Skype’s Morten Lund invested €1.5 million on it and it was almost sold to an international group. Facebook grows twice as fast as Tuenti in Spain
Facebook grew 49% over the last 12 months in Spain, while Telefonica-owned Tuenti only increased its traffic 21%. According to comScore MediaMetrix, Facebook registered 14.2 million unique visitors in September 2010, versus Tuenti’s 8.3 million.

Nasza-Klasa, the network that beats Facebook in Poland
Two weeks ago I took part in the e-nnovation conference in Poznan, Poland, which was a good opportunity to drink vodka and to know the social networking sites in this country. In fact, it is one of the few places in Europe in which a local network is still above Facebook. It’s called Nasza-Klasa and it has twice as many users as Mark Zuckerberg’s creation.
