The hastag #RIPVine started to circulate since Facebook, Instagram’s owner, announced the launch of the video function. Vine has now a very strong rival.
This renewed app allows the user to upload 15 second videos and edit them with different filters that have been specially created for the new Instagram version. These characteristics involve a clear competitive advantage with respect to Vine.
Kevin Systrom, Instagram’s founder, claimed that the reason why this new option is included is that not all the moments can be shared through a photo.
