The Pirate Party’s euro seat is a step further towards Politics 2.0

piratparteitThe Swedish Pirate Party has gotten a seat in the European Parliament after winning 7.1% of the votes in Sweden. This is a very important step towards Politics 2.0. It means that Internet users can unite and force things to change in politics, so politics will have to change. Copyright will also have to be reformed. Yes we can!

The Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE), leaded by congresswoman Lourdes Muñoz, has taken to the Parliament a resolution in which it pushes the Government to promote the Web 2.0 in Spain. But will a Government effort have any effect in the creation of contents in social networks?

Government 2.0

I went yesterday to the first Public Services 2.0 workshop I had ever heard about. It was held in Brussels by epractice.eu, an initiative of the European Commission. There were supposed to be around 100 people, though I didn’t count more than 60 and at the end of the session I think there were no more than 20 people in the room. Anyway, I took note of some very interesting practices.

Digg like tools spread out as political tools… only for activists

The Obama and European gouvernments have started using Digg-like tools in order to know what really worries citizens and adapt political action to those ideas. People offer ideas and can vote for those that have already been suggested. Unfortunately, what comes out from these sites, some kind of civic crowdsourcing, is not necessarily what most of the population expects from the public Administration.
