As Line starts letting its 300 million users sell products on its platform and people complain against WhatsApp charging $0.9, I wonder if auctions could the future business model of this type of apps. Line has launched its C2C e-commerce platform only in Japan, where it was born, but I am sure others will follow this path. The app where you have conversations is also the right place to exchange things, either freely or not. Keeping a 10% cut of every transaction is a clear business model. eBay won’t be happy.
