We have done a report analysing the Top 10 World Auto Brands Industry, considering their presence on social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Youtube). The auto brands selected for this report have been: BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Wolkswagen, Lexus, Ford and Toyota.
BMW and Mercedes are the two leading auto makers on social media with more than 50% of the audience in most networks. India and US are the main markets, while Mexico and Turkey stand out in second place.
Facebook is the most important network for auto makers, as the 10 main brands capture 68.6 potential buyers and potential market value of $12.3 bn.
On the opposite, Twitter is the least important social network for auto makers, and there are even some brands which do not have a global profile: Hyundai, Lexus and Volkswagen. In this case, Audi and Mercedes bring together 54% of the audience and Nissan has the most engaged users.
As of Youtube, it is an essential part of auto makers’ online marketing strategies. BMW is the brand that gets the highest audience (37%) and Volkswagen is the top video uploader, with almost one item per day. Most brands talk about innovation, while Mercedes has introduced another subject: fashion.
