Juan de Urrutia talks about social networks

In his article in Expansion (March 2004), Juan de Urrutia, former minister of the Basque Government and member of the Board of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, mixes new economy and social networks. According to him, the new economy is not made out of cost reductions, as happens in B2B and B2C businesses, but it will be based in C2C (Consumer to Consumer) and P2P (Peer to Peer) businesses, as they are great examples of the “network effects”.Urrutia is especially interested in e-Bay, a prosperous digital business which keeps growing exponentially. “They were good at creating dense networks which generate mutual confidence”, explains this economist.
